About MGB
WHAT WE ARE
Mirehaven Gives Back (MGB) is an IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization established and operated by residents of Del Webb Mirehaven (DWM). The purpose of MGB is to raise money to benefit other New Mexico 501(c)(3) nonprofits. Each year, residents vote to select a local charitable organization to be the beneficiary of the fundraising efforts for the year. Except for expenses related to fundraising, all monies collected by MGB go to the nonprofit(s).
HOW CHARITIES ARE SELECTED
Each January, our Mirehaven residents are asked to submit nominations of local charities to be considered. Eligible nominees must be:
1) An IRS‑recognized 501(c)(3) organization; 2) Based in the Albuquerque area; and 3) Not a charity supported by Mirehaven Gives Back in the past four years. Once nominations close, the MGB Board of Directors will review all submissions and create a shortlist of finalists. In early February, we’ll present those finalists to the community—and you will vote to select the charity we’ll champion throughout 2026.
HOW FUNDS ARE RAISED
Only once a year, on Donate Day, do we ask for an outright donation. Otherwise, we fill the year with various events and projects such as concerts, garden tours, bingo, auctions, bake sales, fashion shows, a pet calendar, a cookbook, and other fundraising activities.
